Where, When?

Yes, the blind race is safe and is a total blast to put on and watch. Barrel Racing and Pole Bending are a couple of fun ones also.

Pullerguy, do you charge a flat per mile charge or just whatever your gas costs? Also, maybe I missed it, but where are you located?

Default Sled pulls

We are located in Northern Nevada, 170 miles east of Reno on I-80. We have been charging rent on the sled, that covers the use of the sled, and a crew to operate the sled. With the price of fuel like it is we are going to have start charging milage or something, at least enough to get us there and home again. We will need to know where the event is going to take place and the dates to see if we can work in to our regular work schedule, most times we have to schedule vacation time to make the trip. We like to talk about prices on the phone instead of on the forum. I'll send you an e-mail with a phone number when I get home on the morning.

Our unit will handle all ATV's in production at this time. We have had the Ranger 6x6 hook up and the sled did it's job with that one also.

Default Here is some information we used

I know I'll probably get yelled at for such a long post, so have at it. I thought I would share this information with everyone, we used it at our ATV Rodeo and the events worked out fine with the exception of not having allowed enough time for the entries we had. Pullers only got one shot at each event. Feel free to use the information or use the X. We set the event for mainly quads and riders of all ages, I said I would not do the event unless we were allowed to have the kids enter all of the events. We have a pulling sled for the little quads to pull as well as the big units. The small sled will hanlde the 50cc to 200cc units.

Default Sled Pulling Event Information

Hello Pullerguy,

The following is an email sent to you by 66cummins via your account on UTVRally.com.

Include this full email (particularly the headers). You can just reply or login and reply on the forum.

Message sent to you follows
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was wondering what kind of room you need for the pulls.What kind of ground do you need,sand,hard pack or what?? Thanks,Kyle
Kyle:
We use 150 feet for the pulling track, and need about 25 feet behind the
starting gate to stage the sled and pullback unit. If there quite a few
units to pull and a time limit for the show we will run the tape measure out
to the end (300 feet) and not set a "Full Pull" limit just until the unit
stops. If 150-160 feet are packed real good then leave 75-100 feet a bit
loose will give everyone a good go. At 125 feet the sled has a good grip on
the ground and is starting to make the quads break loose. We haven't had a
chance to "test" out a lot of UTV's yet due to the fact the jamborees that
we have been to are quad based. Firm packed sand-clay mix seems to work the
best for the pulling track. Are you familiar with the Hurricane, Utah area?
That soil around there is the best we have had the pleasure to pull on, it
takes very little work to prep a track. Just a grader to cut a smooth
surface and hit it with the water, wheel roll it with something with fairly
smooth tires. If the surface is packed too hard the sled doesn't get a
proper grip nor do the quads have a chance to get their claws into the dirt.
We hope this information helps.
Pullerguy
Les, I know the campground doesn't have the room to do it, but I'm trying to find out if there's an outside location that we can ride to that's nearby to do this.
