Default A couple good books...

There should be a Moab 4x4 book and a Moab ATV book. We'll be able to ride on both!

Curious if any of those campground cabins are wheelchair accessible. Not just the entry & door but the bed, tiolet etc... How much $$$

I'll make sure to ask the wheelchair accessible question as well. Sorry about that.

Default Current Calendar of Events...

Our current Calendar of Events can be found on the following page:

http://www.discovermoab.com/calendar.htm

BTW, I will be updating this list later today (Monday).

In terms of the best months to host an event without air conditioning, here
are some of the best months along with their average high temperature...

March: 61
April: 72
May: 82
September: 87
October: 63

Major events to work around:

Canyonlands Half Marathon: March 17
Annual Jeep Safari: March 31-April 8 - The biggest event of the year for us.
April Action Car Show: April 26-29 - Fills the town.
Moab Music Festival: August 30 - September 15

September, in general, is quite a busy month for us because of the moderate
temperatures.

If you narrow your event dates down to a specific range, I'd be happy to
tell you what to expect.

Good luck with your event!

1) Are pets allowed in the 5 basic cabins?
Yes!

Quote:
2) We're thinking either middle to late May(not Memorial weekend because of crowds) or sometime later, but not sure when people start coming back. We don't have A/C in our vehicles, so would late summer be okay as well or too hot? We want to try to fit it into most kids school schedules, because it will be a family event.

3) Do you already have things reserved for the 16-20th of May 2007? If
so, how many of each item is available? Is this a good weekend or too
hot?
May 16th thru the 20th..we have 4 of the basic cabins
reserved and two of the doubles reserved. May weather can be anywhere from mid 70's to high 90's.

Quote:
4) Is March (Spring Break) a good week for Moab, or still too
cold(snow?)?
We do have alot of wind in the spring and March could be 50's to 70's. We get very little snow..but we could have some.

Quote:
5) What are your group rate details?
We give no discounts on our cabins..but our Rv sites and tent sites are 10%.

Quote:
Are you wheelchair accessible?
We are not wheelchair accessible..bathhouses, cabins and store all have at least one step up.

Here's some quick information from the local tourist information place in Moab:

Quote:
The weekend before Memorial Day would be a pretty good choice. Temperatures will be in the upper 80s.

Archview is the only commercial campground with cabins and hookups that allow non-street legal vehicles to ride directly to the trails from camp.
I've emailed the City Manager to see if getting temporary allowance to ride on the street would be possible at all. If not, Archview it is!

Chris

P.S. Would the 16-20th be good dates for most people? Kids out of school? Thoughts?

Default Rhino Rentals...

Hey guys,

Part of putting on a big event like this is catering to those that want to come, but aren't able to or don't want to haul a sxs across the country to do it. So, there's an option for folks that don't:

I'm negotiating with them currently, but Trevor appears to be very helpful and willing to be a part of our event. Stay tuned!

I'm also checking with the City of Moab and Grand County to see what our options are for being allowed to ride from Archview to trails outside of the area, if needed. The City responded making it seem like it's possible, but since Archview is located in the County, I've contacted them as well.
