I appreciate that! It looks like we'll see you again at the Black Hills Rally, right? Allison already registered!

My oldest got out last week, the two younger tomorrow, so if you're looking at families you would have to step it out another week. I'd consider taking them out in May, but no way they can miss the last week

I think the heat is a bigger issue for us. I still think the earlier in may the better.

I'd like to blame it on genetics, but my parents are nice people....

It's better to take children out of school earlier than later towards the end of year. I think anyway, having been there many moons ago with kids. Besides Moab I heard is going to be over 100 now, we just got lucky and that's all there is to it. I think we would have had health problems with more heat, we had such a range in ages. With high temps the very young and the older ones (ok myself included) we could have real trouble out there in it. Just another thing to think about.
We knew people that would have made the rally had it not been held in June due to the heat.
Early May I agree is the perfect time to hit Moab.

My 2cents and I'm stickin' to it

Default heat

yes the heat can be a problem. it is going to be 110 in las vegas this weekend and i will be out with some frineds riding the desert. i was expecting moab to be hotter than it was, that is why i wore the camo hat and long sleve camo shirt.(i think i looked a little funny) but it works it really keeps you cooler. so to get to the point if we stay in june and expect it to be hot we can enclude a list of recomended clothes and hats and fluides to bring.
