Chris, any idea what the time frame for driving on the roadways will be? IF that goes through would Archview still be base?

I would like to make sure that anyone that wants to be a guide can be at the next rally a couple of days early so everyone can be on the same page and also pre run ALL the routes together.

I agree, and I plan on getting a GPS and routing out all the trails so we can produce maps for everyone. I'm also thinking that we'll possibly only guide the difficult and moderate trails and let the easy folks fo out on their own with good maps, possibly...just a thought so far.

Sounds good. We could pre run the easy trails and mark them too. That and gps, they should be okay. We also need to remember that if we are going to hold it to 10 people in a group we will be needing a lot more trail guides. I would like to work with Larry on this

Sounds good! I'll probably take and do the media rides on moderate and difficult runs with the help of whoever can stand all the start and stopping. From there, GPS maps for the easy routes and trail guides for the other difficult and moderate runs sounds good to me. We might even be able to fly out there, get some units from Cliffhanger and make it a little quicker and cheaper to GPS it all out ahead of time.

Larry, I'm not sure, but I'll check with the guy that told me to see if I can get some more information.

Hey there...
The princess asked me why I didn't leave a few days earlier and be of more use! The kids (dogs) of course was my reasoning. Rocky was really stressed from being put in the kennel for only 3 days. Sophie (my little sweetheart) handled it much better. We have decided to find/use "pet sitters" that can come to our home in order to reduce Rocky's stress. Next month we'll be out of town for 10 days and we're both worried about him being in a kennel for that length of time.
I would'nt mind pre-running the intermediate trails but....dunno about the difficult run. If that disqualifies me...fine, so be it! You shouldn't have any problem finding additional guides for the next rally. John and Janet (Ogden,Utah) would be perfect. John is a retired Police Officer and the one that gave me a WONDERFUL/INFORMATIVE driving lesson! What a great couple!!! He's unlike most cops that I've had occasion to deal with/know. Have had a few cops in the extended family tree that....never mind, won't go there. We also had a lot of wonderful experienced riders that stepped up to the plate during the rides when us novices got in something over our heads.
As for being street legal by next year? I'm not gonna hold my breath on it. Utah needs to get their act together and re-classify the UTV's first. They think of us as being ATV's and most here don't want to be dealing with ATV's on the street. This place can be a bit bizzare to say the least. The riders on bicycles drive me nuts because here they can take a whole driving lane legally and do so! But what the hey? In our neighborhood 5 year olds are riding motorized scooters and mini-mini atv's up and down the streets and sidewalks. Yeah... I'll keep hoping, though for it to happen.

The only other suggestion may be run an easy group only on the first day for the real noobs. I think a lot of the new riders will benefit from a little tutoring and want to progress into the moderate run by day 2 and 3. I can't tell you how many people told me they would have never tried some of the things they did without someone showing them and helping them through it first.

That's not a bad idea either Larry.
