For a fairly complete list of food, drink, fun in Moab look here:
http://www.moabhappenings.com/menuguide.htm I tend to camp a lot, so I am not an expert on Moab restaurants. Here is RedMan's guide to Moab after a day of pounding the rocks. Virtually ALL of these require a drive from Archview. Archview is located seven miles north of downtown. Only the Bar M Chuck Wagon can be ridden to from camp. It is about 1/2 mile south of Archview. Since I have never been to the Bar M I cannot comment. There is a smallish grocery store at the Archview, and a gas station. Pasta Jays if Great. Good for Dinner. Zax Pizza is pretty good for dinner as well. Moab Brewery is really very good. The beer is great too. Smitty's Golden Steak is my place for Breakfast. Moab Diner is great, you can grab something good, quick simple and then walk next door to Woody's for a beer. My favorite Steak place changed hands so I will not comment here until I return and check it out. Eddie McStiiffs is ANTI-OHV, supports SUWA and has gone on record as saying they do not think Moab should allow People like us to rectreate the way we do. I urge you NOT to support Eddie. Besides, the food is middle of the road. Woody's Tavern - Utah Private Club. Thanks to the silly liquor laws in Utah you need to be a member. As I recall its $5 a year so don't let this put you off. The Beer is COLD! The Coldest in town according to the sign on the door. Woodys is a Bar, plain and simple. Food is pretty casual low end. I suggest dinner elsewhere. Get your beer and music at Woodys'. Sometimes there is a $3 cover if there is a live band. There are things like McDonalds, Dennys, Pizza hut. The main Grocery is on main street and called City Market (Kroger owned). It is a gathering place for Jeeps et. al. Everyone seems ot show up there to buy a few things in the AM. Good place to see cool rigs and meet people. I have a great time prowling the parking lot. With all that said, the BEST food in Moab is the Steak I cook and wash down with ICE COLD BEER in my camp, in a place I do not share. |

Good post, although we'll be bringing enough food and beer for a month, we may venture into town and eat out at least once.
Heres to making friends with Redman and getting invited over to his camp |

You are welcome.
Downtown Moab is pretty nice. Low key, a few T-shirt shops, Art galleries, coffee shops, trinkets. Even a few good bookstores. Fun to walk around to take a break.
