Hey folks,
We'd love to hear about your experience at the UTV Rally this year...good or bad! I've received a lot of emails from folks, so I'll start with what we'd like to see: Quote:

Okay, here's my take FWIW:
The organizational aspect at ground zero (Spanish Trails Arena) was very good compared to last year. There was no messing around when it came time to go on a ride. IOW if you missed the police escort, you find something else to do for the day if you didn't have a trailer to take off on your own. It seemed pretty obvious (except for one UHP) that the local gendarmes were on our side and that part was great given the circumstances. Breaking up the ride days was good with Friday's events. That let everyone sleep in and get mundane things like laundry and grocery shopping done. OTOH last year we could ride out of where we camped and didn't need to bother with any escorts. It made pre-riding trails and/or taking off for a late afternoon or evening ride on a whim much easier. Last year I gave the trails above Moab a 10 (by scenic beauty, not difficulty) and to be truthful, I'd have to give the trails I rode this year an 11 in that aspect. I can live with 10 type trails if it means not spending half the day waiting for a police escort or trailer to get to the trail heads. Just my $.02 since you asked. And BTW... thanks to you, Kyle and Michelle for all the effort you guys put in.

Chris, Kyle, Michelle and everyone else who had a hand in it, did a awesome job with everything. You guys out did yourself! It was nice meeting all of you. All the trail guides were very nice and helpful, which made our rides a lot easier. What a challenging experience on each of the trails, all good of course. This was a wonderful way to meet so many new people from all over, everyone was so nice and helpful. We had a great time.
I just want to say that Yamaha really stepped up, fixing whatever needed to be fixed, they far exceeded our expectations. The only thing negative I have to say is, to have a paper sign (example - Hells Revenge) for each organized group in the morning to line up with. I think it would be a little easier to know which group went with which or have that certain ride line up every day in the same spot with a sign. I saw a sign for Thursday, Porcupine Rim run, but didn't see any for the other 2 days. Thats just my opinion... All and all it was great, and we hope we can do the 3rd UTV rally next year. Thanks, Mark and Michelle

i was completely shocked, amazed, happy, appreciative, etc.... with the yamaha, and trail armor reps that worked on your utv for FREE!!!! yes, i said for FREE!!! i don't think they accepted tips either. this is the most awesome display of public relations i have ever seen. i personally did not have any work done, but i sure did go thank the fellows for what they were doing for the common cause. god bless them. the group dinner and raffle was great too. i would have liked to have started riding much earlier each day, say 5:00 am, so we could have possibly hit two trails per day. i also wish we would have had organized group rides on friday. i got lost in the shuffle on that day. my bad. it was also interesting to me to see that some of the businesses did not support the off road crowd, and others embraced us. i guess the haters are "rock huggers" or something, i'm not sure, but i am quite sure they loved the bountiful green duckets we left behind!!! i completely loved it all. i, no doubt, had the time of my life. i want to thank my mother for giving birth to me. if it wasn't for her i would never have expierienced such bliss mixed with adrenaline. gracias madre mia. god bless everybody who attended. oh yeah, i almost forgot, i dare any los angeles laker fan to sit in a sports bar, in utah, during a jazz basketball game!!!! that was the most dangerous ride of my week.

well....i missed this rally. but would like to know why the "toy haulers got screwed" this year. personally, i found the staff at Archview to be a hell of a lot friendlier then the ones i dealt with when making my reservations for this year. then again, "change is difficult" when one gets older. i thought Archview was perect with it being so close to trails that offered something everybody and re-filling the tank was simple. but the sponsors got shortchanged last year and i guess that's the name of the game when it comes having a quality event such as the one that's taking place. if it weren't for the fact that easy and intermediate rides were offered, this one wouldn't bother showing up. i love sand dunes or long trails with a some challenges but climbing vertical ledges (with a fear of heights) is out of my league. but anyways......Hooch, i'd like to hear how/why the toyhaulers got screwed. it might be a "heads up" for some of us that didn't make it this year. i hate gettin` blindsided.

Bud, We had some access issues to the rv parks half way thru the rally. Seems we had permission from the county to ride the road side but the state troopers got a phone complaint and shut us down
