Ya know, some of those folks seem to be pretty nice. I wrote back thanking the person for the information, and here is the reply:
"Your welcome. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact our Customer Service Department for further assistance at 1-801-297-7780 or 1-800-368-8824. Thank you, C. Barber Division of Motor Vehicles Utah State Tax Commission" So, I guess the questions are, who do we contact in Moab, and who is going to do it? If you guys have a contact number, I can phone them on Friday this week. Bob

Hey Bob,
It's my understanding that it's going to take an act of congress to allow us to run the roads without the UT regulations in place on all vehicles, which as of right now(I could be wrong) requires in-state residency, so unless an miracle happens with the local Moab City and County, we will be getting escorts to and from trails just like last year. If I'm out of place Kyle or Bob, please put me in my place! Chris |

Well, you know Kyle, Nevada and Utah were once one. Our side, Nevada, turned out to be the more worldly sibling; Utah chose to be a bit more, shall we say, proper. Whatever, family is family! Cali is, well, not in the family!
![]() With respect to Chris' comments earlier, I definitely got the impression that we would indeed be able to do some sort of out-of-state registration in Moab, if the city allows. Could be wrong, though. The story of the Montana Rhino is encouraging. I anxiously await Kyle's results! If it turns out that we are unable to register as non-residents, so be it. The convoys last year were cool, as were the looks we got! Sure appreciate all that you guys, especially Chris, Kyle and our dear Rock Queen do for all of us! BTW, installed the LED light kit from Bulldog last weekend. Have a couple little things left to do, but they definitely look like they belong on the machine. Installation is easy, except for anal people like me, who seem to get overly concerned with wire routing. If you get anal, you end up removing a fair number of body bolts! I'll shoot off a photo or two when it is done this weekend. Bob

Hahaha. Mr(s)? C. Barber is a crack head. Utah has not yet recognized any other states OHV street legal licensing. The city of Moab has no say in the matter. It might happen before the Rally. Will let you know when/if it does.
